Commissioned by The Art of Sport, Michael sculpted this limited edition figurine of the four-time Super Bowl champion and Hall of Fame inductee, Pittsburgh Steeler "Mean" Joe Greene.

In addition to sculpting famous athletes, Michael has created several non-specific sports compositions. A Day at the Park exemplifies a perfect batting swing and has won top awards in an art shows. Safe at Home depicts an renowned call during the 1955 World Series, in which Jackie Robinson slides into home, greeted by Yogi Berra.

Michael was a finalist for a sculpture of Harold Connelly, a U.S. Olympic hammer thrower who also served as Executive Director of the Special Olympics. This maquette conveys the explosive power of a throw.

The Olympians maquette was designed at the request of the Bejing Committee in 2008. Although a large version was not featured at the games, the maquette has proved popular.
